Wings: The New York Times Best-Selling Series
So, Aprilynne got home from the first leg of her launch tour today, and she tells me she had a fabulous time. Thanks to all of you for the kindness you do my lovely, talented wife.
Thanks to you, Illusions is selling so well it made the Wings series a New York Times best-selling series!
For those of you who like details: the first two books in a children's series get listed on the "Children's Hardcover" list (in fact right now three of the "top 10" children's titles are by Rick Riordan, because he has two series going). But when the third book comes out, all the sales in the series get combined.
The series list is extremely difficult to hit. In fact it's not uncommon for the first or second book in a series to be a best-seller, only to have the series never reach bestselling status. This is because the series list is often dominated by hugely popular series that stay there for years instead of weeks (as of today, Harry Potter has been on that list for 253 weeks, Percy Jackson just hit week 200, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid is at 121).
So this week, Wings is #9 on the children's series best-seller list, right under Harry Potter at #8. That's huge.
And that's all you.
Because though Aprilynne writes them, it is you, her audience, who make her a bestseller. And you've just done it again. Aprilynne thanks you; you've absolutely made her day. And for that, I thank you!
